Dean Hartley is a Podiatrist of over 15 years. Dean co-founded Balance Podiatry and iOrthotics (Brisbane and New York, USA) and, in 2018, Healthia Limited, Australia, a publicly listed allied health organisation.
In his role as Director, Dean guides the business and technical development of iOrthotics in Australia and the two US businesses, iOrthotics USA (New York) and Performance Laboratories (New Jersey).
Since 2015, Dean has collaborated with The University of Queensland (School of Engineering), Queensland University of Technology and HP to introduce 3D Printed technologies, digital workflows and 3D scanning into orthotic manufacturing.
In 2022, Dean was awarded an Adjunct Fellow position in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at The University of Queensland, Queensland, Australia.
Dean also jointly set up the Healthia R&D Hub in 2021 and continues to advise on tech-enabled healthcare with involvement in technology-focused research through the private allied health sector.
Brent Wright is a Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist (CP BOC/O) known for his work in advancing the use of 3D printing in the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) field. He is a Partner and Designer at Advanced 3D, a clinician at Eastpoint Prosthetics and Orthotics, and a co-host of The O&P Check-in podcast. Wright is also the co-founder of LifeEnabled, a nonprofit dedicated to providing prosthetics to people in developing countries through 3D printing technology.
Paul Langer is a podiatrist in practice with Twin Cities Orthopedics and serves as the medical director of OLT Footcare. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota Medical School and the author of Great Feet for Life as well as an editor of Athletic Footwear & Orthoses in Sports Medicine. He has lectured internationally on lower extremity and footwear topics.
Joe Fairley is a Certified Prosthetist by training and pioneer in the Prosthetics and Orthotics industry for additive manufacturing applications and the digital workflow. In his previous experience, he has designed and developed the world's first FDM/FFF 3D printed lower extremity prosthetic socket, capable of withstanding up to a 275lb individual for at least 3 million cycles. He holds a patent for a continuous fiber fabrication additive manufacturing method for producing a lower extremity prosthesis. Joe has also been the initiator and mediator for an acquisition of a 3D printer manufacturer by an international prosthetics company. Joe founded Ascent Fabrication in 2021 mainly servicing the Prosthetics and Orthotics industry by offering a design and printing service for clinics around the US. For three years, Joe also focused on assisting other clinics with establishing their own in-house additive manufacturing capabilities. In 2024, Ascent Fabrication shifted its focus towards supporting general manufacturing applications for additive manufacturing by offering large format industrial 3D printers as well as premium materials. The Ascent Fab team is very involved with training customers on Design for Additive Manufacturing techniques and provides top notch troubleshooting support and product development. Ascent Fab also provides a print service for 1-15,000 parts on our various FDM/FFF and SLA machines. Ascent Fabrication is the exclusive North American distributor of the Blackbelt 3D Printer and PPprint polypropylene and carbon fiber-polypropylene filament. Ascent Fab is also the center for excellence for the Mingda industrial 3D printer offerings.
